We love our cruises
Even on a day like today, when we are at sea, sailing from Honningsvåg south to Molde, returning to a world where the sun rises and sets again - not that we’ve seen much of the sun today. Our original planned itinerary was to sail further on from Honningsvåg, around to Murmansk, Archangelsk and the Solovetsky Islands, but the situation in Ukraine developed and our schedule was amended. When cruising, all kinds of factors come into play and last minute changes have to be accommodated.
We love waking up in a new place each day and the variety of experience that follows. Will it be exploring a new city, having fun on a bit of an adventure or visiting somewhere we’ve always wanted to see? In the last week we’ve done all of those things and there’s more to look forward to because we are only half way through. Best of all, returning “home” each day to our own suite, where a warm welcome awaits.
We enjoy the company of interesting and well-travelled people, chatting in the coffee shop or listening to speakers in the theatre. Our Trivia teams have become firm friends over the years and although it’s “fun and friendly” of course, it’s always good to be on the winning team!
We’ll often meet them for a drink before dinner too and love that we don’t have to go looking for somewhere good to eat each night. The answer is right here!
Tonight, we’ll meet our friends for dinner in Prime 7, the steakhouse. We last had dinner together in Copenhagen, so we’ve a bit of catching up to do. Hopefully we’ll finish in time for the show that’s in the theatre tonight as well. The entertainment on this cruise has been first class and we have enjoyed every one of the performers.
If I remember, I’ll step outside onto our verandah and see what’s happening outside. Last night, the sky was magnificent. There’s something about skies at sea that make them special, whether or not there’s a sunset.
On days like these, when the sun isn’t shining and the deckchairs aren’t in use, maybe it’s the best time to dream of sunny days in far flung places?
We just booked our 2024 cruise!
