One minute past ten
Or so my watch said…
Sometimes, I write a blog post purely for my own reference; to record some information in a place that I know I will be able to find it again. This is one of those posts and for that reason, I’m going to make sure I include the words watch battery.
We arrived at m-i-l Bettine’s this morning just after ten, though that’s not what my watch was showing. I soon realised that it probably needed a new battery but felt sure I remembered the last time it was changed, I opted to pay a little extra for a long life version, with a lifetime guarantee, no less. I also recalled the chap in the shop suggesting I take a photo of the watch and the card he gave me as proof of purchase because he also recognised that I might need it at some point. After all, a lifetime guarantee is only worth the paper it’s written on!
Hmm. would I be able to find it again? I couldn’t even remember when that new battery was fitted and had begun to search the photos on my phone when a memory flitted through my mind about putting such things in the zip pocket of my diary.
I didn’t need to look very far! The first old diary I pulled out had a bunch of membership cards and other stuff there in the pocket and I could clearly see what I was looking for.
Bingo! September 2019. A short “lifetime”, don’t you agree?
I don’t really like to think of myself as ever feeling smug about something, but on this occasion, perhaps it’s in order? At the very least I will admit to a bit of self-satisfaction and will surely smile when I return to the watch repairer with a small card in hand.
Till then, it’s going to be a minute past ten.
