I need Rishi's mug
I’ve let two cups of coffee go cold this morning whilst I have tried to get that bit of patchwork right. Having spent the last couple of days muttering about the ratio of price vs value of the Chancellor’s travel mug I now realise that those of us solving tricky problems appreciate finding that our coffee has not gone cold in the meantime.
Not that I am comparing my small issue arising from my lack of spatial awareness to resolving the current financial situation of course, though right now I am possibly no closer to getting it right than he might be. which is probably the reason why I am procrastinating by writing a blog post and drinking a lukewarm cup of coffee.
I set aside today to focus on sewing. I was not going to be distracted by fiddling about with anything else but cleared the decks and decided to start from scratch with fresh fabric and renewed determination.
I took my time and pressed each step carefully, feeling only slightly irritated that the way the fabric is printed resulted in some designs turn sideways. Had I thought ahead, I’d have stuck to only using non-directional prints, but hey ho, that’s my deliberate mistake!
In an hour or so, I’d completed the square blocks which form the basis of the houses and then I reached the triangles which form the roof/sky/gable end strip.
I am on my third attempt to get it right and have taken a break before I try again.
